The first Fellowship of the Spirit Conference flared from a spark in a small community of recovered Alcoholics and Al-Anons who lived in the Denver, CO area in 1993. The pioneers blazed a trail which stretches from then to now. They produced a lasting effect by creating a conference based on a message of depth and weight. The fellowship they craved was rooted in the program, the AA groups, and a noticeable difference between the spirit of the fellowship and The Fellowship of the Spirit. The difference being a lifelong commitment to knowing our Creator through the practice and application of the Twelve Steps as outlined in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous.
In 2013, a community of recovered alcoholics and addicts in metro Atlanta and Athens had a vision of carrying the message of Alcoholics Anonymous and Cocaine Anonymous to families and individuals affected by an addiction to any mind altering substance. The pioneers in Colorado heavily influenced this group and the first annual FOTS Georgia Conference was held in April 2014 at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers. The recovery community received the event with open arms. In 2017, FOTS Georgia moved to Camp Mikell in Toccoa. Going forward, we place the outcome of what happens with FOTS Georgia in God’s hands. Our experience abundantly confirms that the situations and gifts which come to us when we put ourselves in the Creator’s hands far exceed anything we could have planned on our own. Our vision is to create an environment rooted in the Big Book, The Twelve Steps and the fellowship, stressing the concept that we are a recovery program supported by a fellowship. FOTS Georgia is open to alcoholics, Al-Anons, addicts, Co-Anons and Nar-Anons. The Twelve Steps apply to anyone bound by ties of blood and affection to alcoholics and addicts. We are not affiliated with any twelve step program. We are a fundamentally orthodox group of Big Book enthusiasts who share experience, strength and hope in a Big Book Conference setting. Please join us as we trudge the road of happy destiny. We are not affiliated with any other groups. We do not endorse anything except non-professional 12 step work. If you notice a conflict with the traditions, please bring it to our attention by emailing [email protected]. |
